The Michigan Economic Development Corporation is on a reckless path of selling off our precious agricultural lands to corporate interests, leading to farmland scarcity and driving the price of these properties through the roof, so that only the mega wealthy will be able to purchase them in the future. This trend has slowly been gaining steam throughout the last few decades but now its full steam ahead. I'm sharing an article about multi-billionaire Bill Gates who now is the biggest owner of farmland in the United States. To his credit, Gates understands that agricultural lands are crucial to food security, here and abroad. Unfortunately, our democracy is threatened when one person owns too much of this valuable resource. Please read the article.

Concerned CitizensWe are concerned residents who are oppossed to the State of Michigan's plant to create a 1,600 acre industrial park outside historic Marshall, Michigan. Instead we wish to see a 1,600 acre recreational area on this site which runs along two miles of the Kalamazoo River.
